Leaving Fredericksburg, taking on Manhattan

Whew.....what a month it has been. My head is still spinning--not that it does not do that on a rather routine basis anyway.

We moved on June 12th after having actually gotten out things into the apartment on June 1st. The rest of the stuff we put into two storage units 20 miles apart in Delhi and Oneonta, which was an ordeal in and of itself.

I absolutely hated leaving Fredericksburg. In addition to leaving two of the kids there, I left all of my really good friends there. It is amazing what bonds and friendships I formed while there. There were so many there with whom I really felt a bond that extended the bounds of this life. Everyone was so incredibly supportive of me as we left and offered such love and kindness and support.

Being in NYC has been and education and an exercise in exercise. I hope all of this walking and sweating in the heat will be a boon for my fitness level and health. One thinks twice about consuming the last of the milk knowing that it will take a commitment of and hour and a half to go get some more milk.

I got a job at the Child School here on Roosevelt Island. I am so happy about that. Everyone I have talked to has nothing but praise for the school and especially praise for the director, Maari De Souza. She really seems like a very lovely person and I look forward to working with her gentle, but very determined spirit.

I am ajusting, I am adjusting, I am adjusting.

I love you all. Nancy
